January 19, 2022 – Two Soldiers killed – Seventeen others injured
Two Marines are dead and 17 more are injured after the tactical vehicle they were driving rolled over Wednesday in Jacksonville, N.C. The Marine Corps, in a statement released Friday, identified the two Marines who lost their lives as Lance Cpl. Jonathan Gierke, 19, and Pfc. Zachary Riffle, 18.
November 1, 2021 – One Soldier killed – Four Soldiers injured
A Fort Bragg, North Carolina, soldier was killed and four others injured in a Humvee incident on the base Monday. The deadly incident occurred just after noon on a main base thoroughfare and is under investigation. The Army declined Tuesday to immediately provide further details, such as the names of the victims, and it was unclear whether other vehicles were involved.
June 17, 2021 – One Soldier killed – Two Soldiers injured
Cpl. Mojave Littlejohn, 21, was driving a military truck in a caravan with other military vehicles heading to a training range on Raeford Vass Road when he was killed in the wreck that happened at about 9:15 a.m.
June 8, 2021 – One Soldier killed – Injuries to others unknown
30-year-old technical sergeant TSgt Kubie was killed in a training accident at the Smoky Hill National Guard range on June 8th. TSgt Kubie was training at the Air National Guard Smoky Hill range when involved in a Humvee rollover accident. Two other air guardsmen were injured in that accident. Ssgt Cole Frederick of Topeka attended the memorial, SSgt Jaden Johnson of Salina is recovering from his injuries in a Wichita hospital.
July 21, 2020 – One Soldier killed – Injuries to others unknown
SGT USA Bryan ‘Cooper’ Mount, age 25, from St. George, Utah, died in a vehicle rollover accident while conducting reconnaissance operations in Eastern Syria. At the time of the accident, SGT Mount was assigned to 1st Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, of the 82nd Airborne Division. SGT Mount was forward deployed into the CENTCOM AOR with elements of his unit which is based at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
July 21, 2020 – Eight Marines and one Sailor killed – Injuries to others unknown
Pfc USMC Bryan J. Baltierra, age 19, of Corona, California; Lance Cpl USMC Guillermo S. Perez, age 21, of New Braunfels; Texas; Lance Cpl USMC Marco A. Barranco, age 21, of Montebello, California; Pfc USMC Evan A. Bath, age 19, of Oak Creek, Wisconsin; Pfc USMC Jack Ryan Ostrovsky, age 21, of Bend, Oregon; Cpl USMC Wesley A. Rodd, age 23, of Harris; Texas; Lance Cpl USMC Chase D. Sweetwood, age 19, of Portland, Oregon; Cpl USMC Cesar A. Villanueva, age 21, of Riverside, California; and Corpsman USN Christopher Gnem, age 22, of Stockton, California, were Killed when a Marine Corps amphibious assault vehicle sank the coast of Southern California. The eight Marines and the one Navy Corpsman were all assigned to Battalion Landing Team 1/4, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit.
July 3, 2020 – One Soldier killed – Injuries to others unknown
SP4 USA Vincent Sebastian Ibarria, age 23, of San Antonio, Texas, died in a vehicle rollover in Farah, Afghanistan, near the Iranian border, officials said. SP4 Ibarria was attached to 2nd Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, based out of Ft. Drum, New York.
Oct 22, 2019 – One Marine killed – Injuries to others unknown
Pfc U.S.M.C. Christian Bautista, age 21, was serving as a turret gunner on an up armored HUMVEE when the vehicle rolled over at the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center in Bridgeport, California during field exercises. Pfc Bautista, originally from Cook County, Illinois, was a motor vehicle operator assigned to the 1st Transportation Support Battalion at Camp Pendleton, California.
Oct 21, 2019 – Three Soldiers killed – Injuries to others unknown
SFC USA Bryan Jenkins of Florida; PFC USA Antonio Garcia of Arizona; and CPL U.S. Army Thomas Cole Walker of Ohio were killed when their Bradley Fighting Vehicle overturned into a water obstacle during an overnight training exercise at Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield GA. The three soldiers were assigned to the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, of the 3 rd Infantry Division (Mech).
June 17, 2019 – One Soldier killed – Injuries to others unknown
SP4 USA Marquise Gabriel Elliott, age 25, was killed when his up-armored HUMVEE rolled over in the Yukon Training Area in Alaska. At the time of the accident, SP4 Elliott was assigned to B Battery, 2nd Battalion, 377th Parachute Field Artillery Regiment. 4 th Brigade Combat Team, 25 th Division, Ft. Richardson, Alaska.
June 7, 2019 – One Soldier killed – Twenty two other Soldiers injured
West Point Cadet Christopher J. Morgan, 22, died from injuries sustained in a vehicle rollover accident at the U.S. Military Academy's field training area. Cadet Morgan was killed, and 20 cadets and two soldier trainers were injured when the tactical truck overturned en route to a training exercise near the academy, The truck was transporting cadets to a training area about eight miles from West Point’s main campus in upstate New York when it overturned. The truck, which was being driven by a soldier trainer.
May 15, 2019 – One Soldier killed – Injuries to others unknown
SSG USA Jacob Hess, age 34, was killed at Fort Polk, Louisiana in a HUMVEE rollover accident at Fort Polk, Louisiana’s Joint Readiness Training Center. SSG Hess was assigned to the 97th Civil Affairs Battalion, 95th Civil Affairs Brigade, at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
May 9, 2019 – One Marine killed – Injuries to others unknown
1st Lt USMC Hugh Conor McDowell, age 24, a Marine platoon commander, died in a vehicle rollover accident on maneuvers at Camp Pendleton in San Diego County, Calif. Lt. McDowell was commanding a 13-ton LAV an, eight-wheeled reconnaissance vehicle that carried seven crew members. Lieutenant McDowell was a member of the 1st Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, based at Camp Pendleton, CA.
Jan 16, 2019 – One Soldier killed – Injuries to others unknown
SP4 USA Octavius Deshon Lakes Jr. age 22, was killed in a Bradley Fighting Vehicle that rolled over during field exercises at the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, California. SP4 Lakes was a combat engineer assigned to the 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team of the 1st Cavalry Division.
